7 Week Beginners Evening Throwing Course Level 1

This 7-week evening course provides the opportunity to learn how to throw pots on a pottery wheel. You will learn about this meditative process used for millennia to create everyday objects as well as one-off pieces of art. Time on the wheel is a great way to escape everyday worries, and we hope you enjoy the process as much as we enjoy teaching it.

In a small class, expertly supported by our teachers, you will learn how to work with clay on your own wheel, and realise your designs from 2D to 3D. Discover the steps behind making pottery and follow the lifecycle from a lump of clay to a finished piece. We will cover the whole process of making a finished pot, and give you time to practice as you learn.

On this one-day workshop, in a small class, you will work on your own pottery wheel to shape clay, guided by one of our expert potters, learning throwing techniques, being creative and making some small pots.

You may take as many of your pots home with you as you like (please note the pots will air dry over a few days and may then be used for display - they will not be glazed or watertight).
