Have you ever wanted to learn how to weave? Well this workshop will teach you foundational weaving skills on a simple frame loom with the aim to create a wall hanging. At the end of the workshop you will be able to take home the piece you have made during the class. You will also take home the knowledge to continue your interest in weaving in your own time.
The class will cover:
Design development - deciding what to make, choosing a colour scheme and selecting appropriate yarns
Loom set-up - knotting and warping your wool on which to create your weave structures on a warping area of L39cm x W27 cm.
Creating your weaving using a variety of sustainably sourced yarns in an assortment of textures. You will create a wall hanginga of a maximum dimensions L39cm x W27 cm.
Taking the weaving off the loom and finishing it so that your piece is ready to take home with you
All yarns and equipment are provided and are sustainably sourced.
