Dreoilín

Dreoilín is the Irish name for the wren a much loved bird in Ireland.In folklore he is also known as the king of all birds despite his tiny size! The wrens nest is a beautifully crafted structure. This textile piece shows a wren entering her nest to feed. It is created using batik techniques printed on cotton and finished with machine and hand embroidery. Each piece is quilted giving a relief or raised effect .
