Áras Hanging Plant Pot

by Irish Design Shop

A simple, beautifully made plant pot, thrown on the potter’s wheel in terracotta clay and glazed in a creamy slip. Part of a series from potter Helen Faulkner for Irish Design Shop, the straight lines of each form gives a base for plants to really stand out against the earthy red clay. Each pot is individually finished with Helen’s hand scribed linear pattern which adds texture and character, glazed on the inside and stamped with Helen's makers mark. The sisal twine compliments the earthy tones and is strong enough to support the weight of the potted plant.

by Colin Harris

Three vases in wild Irish ash are a small exploration in nature, material and process. The riven vase is split from a green log of wild Irish ash, the hand planed vase is sawn from kiln dried boards and left with a raw hand planed finish, and the hand rubbed oil vase is sanded and highly finished.
