Format of a one-day private tuition class is as follows: Schedule – 9.30am-5pm 1– 2 lunch break (home-cooked lunch)
Practical details: You will have a top of the range lathe and tool panel with all necessary tools and chucks. All wood is supplied. If you wish to bring your own tools please feel free to do so.
What you will learn: You will go home with your own handturned piece, for example – small bowl, candleholder…
You will agree with Glenn, in advance of the tuition, what you wish to concentrate on, for instance: • Cutting and shear cutting techniques, use of scrapers • Spindle techniques • face plate techniques • getting the best finish on your work • getting the most out of your material, advice on drying and wood selection
