Hazel Greene is a visual artist and textile designer – a painter who creates silk scarves. Hazel has work in State and Heritage collections, has been awarded Accessory Designer of the Year and membership of the Council of Irish Fashion Designers.

In essence I’m a painter who creates silk scarves. My work begins with a drawing, the challenge is to add colour, preferably unrealistic, that enlivens the image, reflects a mood and imitates the effect of light hitting a surface.
Occasionally I print a single painting as a design, but I like to use parts of individual paintings to weave digitally into a textile design creating a more complex story.
The final design is printed onto silk, a beautiful and luxurious fabric, and finished with hand rolled hems.
