We were excited to learn that global star and fashion influencer Kim Kardashian West opted to wear a design by Reuben Avenue - one of the brands featured in Scéal. Kim picked up the matching blouse and trousers at acclaimed West Hollywood shop Church Boutique prompting a flurry of media and consumer interest in the Irish brand which was established last year by Eoin Dillon and which is quickly becoming renowned for its focus on more conscious production methods and materials.
In other news, several Design Ireland brands won prizes and runner-up positions in September’s Irish Made Awards 2019. This annual competition run by Irish Country Magazine saw huge numbers of applicants enter across the categories of Fashion, Accessories, Jewellery, Textiles, Home, Gift, Furniture, Food & Drink and Beauty.
Arran Street East fought off stiff competition to be awarded Overall Winner of the competition which sees an opportunity to be stocked by Kilkenny, to present their product at Showcase 2020 and receive an advertising package in the magazine.
Irish Linen House were also awarded first place in the Textiles category with several other Design Ireland brands being presented with runner up positions in the various categories on the day.
