The “Love” scarf’s conversational print is inspired by knick-knacks, fabric swatches, broken jewellery, dried flowers and other ephemera picked up on life’s journey and features Susannagh’s characteristic passion for bright colours against a dark background.
The ombre background from black to grey appears on all three available sizes and is something of a departure for the designer, but one which will complement winter wardrobes beautifully and add contrast to Susannagh’s existing repertoire of designs.
“I always think in design terms and also think about what I haven’t done in my collections before,” says the designer who lives and works by the sea in Dún Laoghaire in Dublin.
“I wanted to do something fun and to bring in elements that I often repeat in my collections ﹣ like the little ladybird or the strong floral motifs. In winter I like to produce more ornate designs. The colours are rather primary ﹣ oranges, cerise pinks and reds.”
The scarf is available in three sizes － a small neck square (70cm x 70cm), a classic silk square (90 x 90cm) and an extra large size (140cm x 140cm).
