As well as designing and producing beautiful products, many of our designers also offer workshops and classes - from pottery to furniture making, digital printing to silversmithing - giving your loved ones the chance to get their hands dirty while coming away with a beautiful item to treasure forever.

Pottery Workshops with Arran Street East

Little Green Street, Dublin 1

In the heart of Dublin’s old market area, Arran Street East offer an impressive variety of workshops to suit both new and experienced enthusiasts and makers, including two-hour, half-day, one-day workshops and weekend workshops. Here you can learn anything from hand-building with clay to throwing on the potter’s wheel to glazing, depending on your interest or level of experience. Classes run on a very regular basis and take place on both weekends and weekdays. Prices for workshops range from €50 to €275 depending on the course undertaken.

Furniture Making with Hill Picket Studio

Avoca, Co. Wicklow

Hill Picket Studio offer Saturday Furniture Making courses which are open to people of all levels of experience. Beginners enjoy an introduction to various hand tools and techniques including measuring and marking, cutting with a saw, using a hand-plane, gluing and sanding and finishing with shellac and beeswax. A beginner’s project will be completed by the end of the day. Those with more experience can tackle larger items such as stools, hall tables, coffee tables or even a kitchen table - items which necessitate a longer time commitment. The next course takes place on January 19th 2019. The course fee is €125 per session with complimentary lunch included.

Luxury Digital Textile Printing with Jennifer Rothwell

Beaumont, Dublin 5

Designer Jennifer Rothwell provides this intimate two-day intensive Digital Textile Printing workshop in which she introduces participants to the skills needed to bring their ideas to fruition on fabric. Jennifer will guide participants in each step of the process - from design inspiration to textile printing to the after-care of fabrics - and students will have the opportunity to see their designs printed using the same technology Jennifer herself uses when creating her own collections. The next course takes place on the weekend of the 23rd and 24th of February 2019.

Jewellery Making with Silver Works by Gallardo & Blaine Designs

Drury Street, Dublin 2

In the heart of Dublin’s Creative Quarter, Gallardo & Blaine offer jewellery making classes almost every evening. Get together with friends for one of their group classes and learn how to make a sterling silver ring from scratch in two hours with the help of these professional designers and goldsmiths. Participants will learn how to size a piece of silver using a handsaw and how to form the ring using a mallet and mandrel. The experts will help to solder the ring and students will learn to file and personalise the ring with texture and shape before polishing the finished item. Get together, have some fun, learn something new and walk away with a beautiful new accessory to call your own.
