Design Ireland at Bloom this weekend

This weekend sees thousands of people descend on Dublin's Pheonix Park for the annual Bloom festival. Members of Design Ireland will be there too showcasing a variety of beautiful handmade products from beeswax candles to brand new print designs. Here are just some of the craftspeople and designers who can be found at the Irish Craft Village at Bloom this weekend.

Jando will be at Bloom this weekend showcasing their award-winning range of prints including their newest vibrant designs inspired by the men and women's bathing shelters at Bull Island in Dublin.

Martina Hamilton produces some of the country's most well loved Irish jewellery designs. She recently teamed up with garden designer Leonie Cornelius who has designed "The Great Outdoors" garden to create this beautiful Daisy pendant. Costing €50, 100 percent of the proceeds from the sale of this beautiful necklace will go to the charity Goal What on Earth campaign to help people affected by Cyclone Idai which hit parts of Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Malawi in March.

Designer Elaine Kellegher will be at Bloom with her range of colourful and quirky Lainey K printed cards and wall art in order to introduce some fun and colour into your home. Elaine will be showcasing her new Irish language collection of greeting cards and her new Adventure Collection of prints.

Mixed media and stitch artist Lynn Kenny has always been passionate about stitch and embroidered textiles. Lynn's fun and vibrant textile art has inspired a range of prints and home accessories such as tea towels and aprons as well as tabletop items such as espresso cups, teapots and butter dishes which will all be on sale at Bloom this weekend.

Award-winning artist Francis Leavey has created a range of Irish prints and other products such as humorous Irish greeting cards and slogan mugs showcasing a quirky sense of humour. The New Horizons print by Fab Cow is part of Fran's Inspired by Ireland series which draws on the natural colours in the Irish landscape and then exaggerates them to make them pop. Catch him at Bloom this weekend.

Ailbhe Gerrard of Brookfield farm in Co. Tipperary will bring her beautiful range of hand-dipped beeswax candles to the event. The recent winner of the RDS Spring Awards which promotes sustainable farming and living in Ireland, Ailbhe will present her new range of slim beeswax candles and handmade beeswax birthday candles this weekend.
