SUITABLE FOR BROOKWOOD STUDENTS & THOSE WITH SOME EXPERIENCE. This course will be an enjoyable mix of hand building and throwing. Students will learn to handbuild and throw pottery. We will use moulds as well as the pottery wheel to make functional pots which we will decorate and glaze. Topics covered will include clay preparation, wedging, centring, flat and tall objects, trimming pots, lidded pots, surface decoration, handling and glazing. This class will take place on Tuesdays in September and will have a maximum of 6 , minimum of 4 students to go ahead. As this is for people with some experience it will be project driven with each student completing a design of their own. The class covers all materials and firings of functional pots plus obligatory tea and coffee breaks!
